FCE

A Functional Capacity Evaluation or "FCE" is a 4-6 hour assessment that determines an individual's work-related abilities and limitations.  An FCE is generally ordered by a physician or a worker's compensation case manager.  It includes doing an interview as well as several tests looking at how one can safely perform work related tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and tolerance to sitting, standing and bending.  Each FCE is individualized and is based off of the Mattheson system and philosophy.
